This is a website for fans and lovers of "YA", otherwise known as young adult books. I first discovered young adult books when my grandmother gifted me a copy of Twilight for Christmas in 2008. I was transported to this fantasy world where supernatural creatures roamed around in Forks, Washington, and I couldn't get enough of it. I must have read the entire YA section at my local library over the next four years. I discovered classic series like "The Hunger Games", "Divergent" and "Matched". To bottle the YA genre into one word is impossible but I would say "growth" sums it up. YA is defined by a protagonist who may face significant difficulties or crises, but they grow or develop to some degree.
The YA genre is exciting, and leaves fans like myself coming back for more. Not only does it provide a good story, and an escape from reality, but it showcases people trying to find themselves.
The action of finding your true self is universal among humans, and why I hope anyone no matter their age, can find enjoyment in reading YA books. I hope this website can act as a stepping stone for new readers into a genre that has changed my life.

What Is The YA or "Young Adult" Genre?
YA is an abbreviation for "young adult". YA literature is for and about teens, there to bridge the gap between children’s and adult’s books. It can be subdivided into the same genres as adult books—romance, paranormal, mystery, horror, literary fiction. For a book to fall into the 'young adult' category, it must have at least one teenage protagonist, usually aged in their upper teens – between 15 and 19 years old. This is different than adult fiction which includes protagonists aged 20 and above.YA books have been around for years, but it wasn't until the release of the hugely popular novel Twilight that the YA genre boommed into business. Today almost all bookstores and libraries include an young adult section.

Twilight by Stephenie Meyer - Review March 2020

The book that started a phenomenon and opened my eyes to the wonderful, vast world of romance. I just can't say enough about it. Just simply that it's a beautiful and sweet against all odds love story. I love Edward and Bella's awkward, tentative, honest, sweet, and bold relationship. Meyer truly captured the innocence and excitement of young, first love and made the reader feel right alongside Bella. The book that made so many of us want our very own Edward! I just love it and love the entire Twilight Saga!
House Of Earth and Blood by Sarah J. Mass - Review March 2020

So I absolutely couldn't put this down! This was Action-packed, addictive and an intriguing start to a series!
Maas has definitely ramped up the World-building in this instalment, especially compared to her previous series. It felt a bit dense initially, but overall very interesting, and once you get into it you just want to know more! I look forward to discovering more later in the series.
While I wasn't as big on Bryce and Hunt as some of the other characters, I still loved this overall! Romance aspect felt a bit cliché, but still enjoyable.
I look forward to seeing more of Ruhn and Hypaxia particularly in the next book!
Harry Potter and The Sorcerer's Stone by J.K. Rowling - Review January 2011

First time I'm reading this series from start to finish since ten years ago! SORCERER'S STONE is even more charming and funnier and brilliantly plotted than I remembered, and that said, it's still my least favorite of the series, which is only odd to me because the first books in a series are often my favorite. But in the case of Harry Potter, this exciting rollercoaster only goes up.
I'm still not a huge Hagrid fan. I found him less annoying than I did as a teen, and I'm excited to see if the series changes my impressions of him and Dobby (who I also wasn't a huge fan of). My love for McGonagall has already doubled and wow, I forgot how petty Draco can be.
Love this book. Excited for CHAMBER OF SECRETS.
